Congratulations to the 2012 Honor Graduates!
Math Invitational at Farmington High School....... District Science Fair at Civic Center........ Rocket Time in Mr. Jacobs class....Fun Times. Alicia Meador, a sophomore at Aztec High School, was invited to participate in the HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference) in El Paso, Texas, on the community college campus from April 28-30, 2012. There were 90 other ambassadors from the southwest region. Students experienced hands-on learning in personal, local, state, and civic leadership roles. Students engaged in lessons designed to enhance personal leadership, group and society leadership by interacting among group members to problem-solve issues. Students attended seminars led by CEOs, community leaders, an army commander, finance directors, and personnel from the American Red Cross. Student participated in activities and exercises to generate diverse thinking and community building skills. Alicia volunteered in El Paso book fairs working with preschool children. Alicia has been selected to attend as ambassador to the World Leadership Congress this summer. She will join other ambassadors from all over the world July 21-28 at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. She is taking three AP honors classes, is a student/instructor for Mann Dance Academy. Her hobbies are reading and writing. Alicia also volunteers at the animal shelter, the high school library, and in community health projects.
